This book is the result of two photographs taken of my balcony using two pinhole cameras. Pinhole photography involves photographing a space with a space. The light travels from one space, in this case my balcony, to the other space, the camera, without the mediation of lenses and is received by direct paper. (The cameras were the size of half a book and all of the walls were covered with photosensitive paper). And so one space, the camera, absorbed the other space, the balcony. The book can be read in two ways. Firstly, by looking at the book half open, as a spatial representation of a space. Secondly, by opening the book fully, as a ‘skin’ that encloses space.
