Our contribution to the Vedute collection is based on the radar reflectors that hang in the masts of ships to be visible to other ships. The object divides the space into eight parts along the three spatial axes. Tilda points mainly outwards within the given dimensions. The three surfaces are then painted in the four primordial colours that painting had enough of for the first ten thousand years: black and white, red and yellow. We have created a kind of dazzle painting with it. Per surface it consists of a grid of blocks that progress in two colours. Four colours give six combinations of two. The combination of hard borders and soft gradients is already particularly stimulating for the eye. Moreover, we have applied it in such a way that if you look straight at the surface, the end edges disappear in colour against the background of the same colour. Then the work becomes flat again. As painters, we believe that two dimensions are superior to three.
