The manuscript is made of polymer clay mixed with pigments. The soft form is baked in an oven for 6 hours. By placing the loose parts right, a small altar is created. The work is part of the series Beyond Matter. In this series, a convincing spiritual experience is evoked in the visitor. What are patterns and forms of coming to faith? Why is it that we assign so much value to the tangible, even within an intangible domain like faith? And where does the devotion to altars, statues, relics and icons spill over into idolatry?
