Collection: Kleur & Ruimte
In my personal work, colour functions primarily as a tonal mood element. The double image viewer is initially intended as an instrument for studying the relationship between colour mood and space. In addition, it is a camera with which optical effects can be evoked. By looking at two different images simultaneously, images merge, giving rise to a curious, eerie effect. One eye sees an architectural space, while the other eye sees a drawing. Because of eye dominance, which by nature alternates every 15 seconds, you see the drawing slowly appear and then disappear repeatedly. In addition to a number of pictures with which various double images can be made, the viewer offers the possibility of influencing the mood in each double image by placing colour filters in front of the pictures.
