‘Description: on the upper side, the male has a strikingly large orange patch on most of the forewing, absent in the female, which is pale green and can be confused with the female Brimstone butterfly.
Habitat: hedgerows and open woodland.
Flying time: a generation from February to August.
Distribution: Southern Europe from Spain to Yugoslavia.’
