WELCOME
in the world of THE LIGHT TRAP and become acquainted with the many possibilities and characteristics of the new DAWN to DUSK recorder.
WARNING
To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture. Do not open the casing for the same reason. Any maintenance should be carried out by an authorized specialist dealer. Always ensure that there is adequate ventilation around the appliance when it is in use. Overheating of the recorder can result in malfunctioning or injury.
SAFETY
Do not insert any foreign objects in the D to D input.
INSTALLATION
Place the recorder in a location where it will be exposed to excessive light, (preferably in front of a window, on the floor). Position ‘the light trap’ in such a way that the long sides are parallel with the north-south direction.
POWER SUPPLY SOURCE
Use the mains supply (220 V). Insert the plug in the socket.As long as the mains lead is connected to the socket, a charge will remain on the recorder, even if the recorder itself is switched off.
TUNING
After connecting the recorder, the word DAWN should light up on the display, together with the current digital time. The various photosensitive sensors are located on the side and top of the appliance.
RECORDING
Even if you see no further visual signal, via the sensors, the APPLIANCE is now measuring the incoming daylight, which is then stored in a computer made by a renowned electronics expert using a soldering iron, with a measurable grey tone gradation speed of approximately 254 steps per second.
INTERACTION
Not only the presence of clouds and/or the sun (‘striking light’), or lightning’s ‘flash’ phenomenon, greatly influence the playback function: your own shadow movements affect the 5 photosensitive sensors (N.E.S.W. – and ‘top light’).
PLAYBACK
In the case of a predetermined grey tone, the word DAWN will be replaced on the display by the word DUSK. From that moment on, throughout the night the internal neon lamps will play the light show of the past day back for you by means of the specially built-in dimmer system. This recording has been sync. recorded and once again will continue until a predetermined grey tone causes the word DAWN to reappear. Thus, the entire process can be recorded and played back throughout your entire life.
USEFUL TIPS FOR RECORDING
This appliance has a metaphorical function! It stands for the symbolic pace your nervous system experiences, the various subtle changes, Influences and moods, which shows analogies with the weather report, with chill and depressions, with dark clouds and with sunny spells, and makes this so recognizable and understandable.
