‘Glance Buitenzorg’ catches the eye due to its unusual format and material: on unfolding the spatial manuscript, the meaning of the limp form becomes clear. Merina Beekman succeeds in subtly transporting the viewer in time and space. The representation of space in the form of the manuscript is consistent with her aim of always working to scale 1:1.
