The sun as measure for time
The thing has its own time
Time is not linear but begin as desired
Without sun the counter withholds its time for a time
When there is sufficient light again, the counter starts to count again
If the batteries go flat meantime, back again from zero
Everyone who sees the thing is invited to register in the guestbook on the accompanying website
Everyone will be placed on the guest list in the order of the counter, even if the counter resets due to insufficient light.
The thing does not need a special place in the light
If components break they can be replaced
