As part of the Net3 campus, the RVU building is to be slotted like a ‘tube’ into the steepest side of the Hilversum Hill. The roof thereby functions as a public balcony with a view over the campus and the park. Entry to the building is via a centrally situated opening in the tube. The interior comprises a large stepped work space with a panoramic window overlooking the park. This space contains various office typologies. The overhang the tube forms with the ground serves as a canopy, which houses a drop-off for visitors, climate-control units and a bicycle storage facility. The ground level and the ceiling together form an undulating, compressed space as a prelude to the building.
